Cushlab is closing its doors

After ten years of producing bespoke cushions we have decided its time for a change. We will continue to trade and take orders until March, the company continues to do very well and so it was a very difficult decision to do something else instead but over the last few months have been starting a new collection of mens/womenswear. The company is called Pajotten and it is now in its early stages of production - its looking great! All the pieces are made in the UK and we have managed to source all of the fabrics from the UK too, although we have loved building Cushlab all good things must come to an end and we can't run both companies at...

A day in Paris

We are always on the lookout for new fabrics and there isn't anywhere better to buy them than in Paris at Premiere Vision. We went through the tunnel this time, and drove down to the french capital, it was a great trip, lots of listening to good music and chatting about future plans.  I have been going to the show since I was a student and still love it as much now as I did then, it is a trade show focused mainly on fashion fabrics, and is selling to designers planning their autumn winter 2016/17 collections but my suppliers also go so its great to meet up and see what they have that is new. We also went into the...

This week in the studio......

Cushlab is a British company that specialises in beautiful cushions made from 100% natural fibres, each piece is made to order in our Kent studio. When we send off an origami cushion or ottoman each shape is filled with four balls of tissue paper so that it is protected in transit, it takes a while to pack...

LIVINGETC APRIL 2016

We are really lucky to have a great relationship with Livingetc magazine, who have again included us in one of their issues, this time it is a feature on Graffiti inspired interior accessories. Magazines work months ahead so it was very early in the new year that we delivered a box of samples to their Blue Fin office 5 minutes from London Bridge. They selected one which is great, I had almost forgotten about the feature until I was doing my weekly shop and spied the new magazine in Waitrose - a brilliant issue with a great kitchen and bathroom pullout, I am now lusting over a bath that costs nearly £7000 - my Jewsons £100 one no longer seems...

Photoshoots - not so simple!

We have two new ranges and both needed a photoshoot, I had achievable plans for both, and set aside a day in which to do them, the day I had picked also happened to be the 21st birthday of one of my lovely nieces so I knew the raw images needed to be done by 3.30 so we could go and visit ....and eat cake ... :.)                                       The first shoot went fine, everything and everyone behaved as planned and we soon had several images, although it took longer than planned, the second shoot required natural sunlight - this should be easy enough...its...
